Thiruvananthapuram : CPI(M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan called upon Congress to clarify its take on Muslim League allying with terror outfits to contest upcoming Panchayat elections. Modi government is pro-active with communal agenda even amid Covid pandemic. And, League’s hook-up with extremist outfits is another version of the goal and will in effect strengthen communal politics perpetrated by Sangh Parivar, said Kodiyeri.
The League’s All-India Secretary PK Kunjalikutty in his announcement said the party will tie-up with Jamaat-e-Islami, SDPI and such radical organisations to brace up to LDF at Panchayat elections. And reports suggest how the move is being backed by at least one faction within Congress.
LDF government proved to be role model on the global stage in mitigating Covid in Kerala - a reason why people in overwhelming numbers are bound to vote for the Left. To tide over this block, League seeks to rope in terror and communal outfits hoping to sway votes.
The BJP and Congress share one voice in their opposition to LDF and its government and the two will not hesitate to form broader political alliance in hopes to defeat the Left. Secular politics is need of the hour, to save our country from divisive forces. And, Congress with its secular-minded leaders should clarify their stand on League’s move that runs totally opposite to this ideology, said Kodiyeri.
