Thiruvananthapuram : Congress’s stand on Venjaramoodu murders involves purporting the two slain DYFI martyrs as ‘goondas’ on one hand and glorifying their killers on the other, said CPI(M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Congress is openly encouraging attackers and incentivising them. The party does not rebuke the killings and this approach of theirs is condemnable, said Kodiyeri.
One can see a picture of Gandhiji in the locality and the two youth were violently killed in front of that sketch. The murders speak of Congress’s failure as a party. Congress is trying to create insecurity by launching a spree of violent attacks in the state while CPI(M) is trying to unify people in peaceful protest against the trend.
There has been a marked decline in violence since the Left government came into power, pointing to the government’s laudable enforcement of law and order enforcement. And, UDF is trying to shatter that state of affairs; the recent incident is part of its ploy, said Kodiyeri.
