Thiruvananthapuram : Kollam bags Swaraj Trophy for the best District Panchayat followed by . Kannur District Panchayat in second position. MB Rajesh announced the Swaraj Trophy awards for the best local bodies in the state for 2021-22 and the Mahatma and Mahatma Ayyankali awards for excellence in employment guarantee schemes in Panchayat and Municipal Corporations at a press conference in the captial. on Wednesday The awards will be given as part of the Local Day celebrations at Trithala on 18th and 19th.
Thiruvananthapuram stood out as the best Corporation. Mulanthuruthi of Ernakulam was selected as the best panchayat. Papinissery panchayat of Kannur district ranks second and Marangatupalli in Kottayam third. In the Block Panchayat category, Perunnadapam emerged winner while Thirurangadi stood as best among Municipalities. Kallikad Panchayat has been awarded the Mahatma Award. Perungadavila received Mahatma award for best Block Panchayat.
