Thiruvananthapuram : Four more districts have been classified into “C” category. The decision came about at Covid assessment meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Thursday. Districts marked C newly are Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki. With this, total districts now under “C” climbed to 5. Thiruvananthapuram had been classified “C” earlier.
Of the total hospital admissions, if more than 25 percent pertain to Covid cases, the district assumes the “C” grade. No social, political, religious or public events are allowed for C districts. Also gym, theatre and swimming pools in such regions are barred from opening. Religious rituals are to be conducted only online in such districts. And, only a total of 20 persons would be allowed at wedding ceremonies.
Only online classes are allowed in C districts for all batches except for final year students of UG and PG courses. The ban applies to tuition centres as well. However,this will not apply to residential schools operating in bio-bubble.
