Konni : LDF wins election for Block Panchayat President in Konni. LDF’s Jiji Saji defeats UDF’s MV Ambili by 7 votes. Ambili secured only 6 votes in all.
The election came after a no-confidence motion was moved on 28 July against incumbent president MV Ambili. Jiji Saji, from UDF camp earlier, backed the motion. Following this the no-confidence motion against the vice president too passed through successfully.
