Have Asked To Ease Curb On Kozhikode Airport : Chief MInister

Thiruvananthapuram:   Steps will be taken to ease ban on big flights to Kozhikode airport, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the Assembly on Monday, adding that the matter has been already urged for with the Airport Authority of India. CM was speaking in context with  P Nandakumar submission stating adequate steps have been moved to  restore larger flights at the airport.

The government has granted permission for acquiring 152.25 acre land required for parking lot at the airport. The Revenue department has taken steps to expedite the process, said CM.

A ban on large flights was enforced following the major air disaster in 2020. The decision on flights would depend on findings made by Airport Accident Investigation Bureau that’s currently looking into what caused the accident, said CM.
