Kozhikode: The sole accused in train fire aboard Alappuzha - Kannur Executive Express, Sharukh Saif, has confessed to crime, ADGP M. R. Ajith Kumar told media today. Sharukh in his testimony, admitted to owning the bag and its contents, he hand abandoned at the crime scene. The multi-agency that launched hunt for Sharukh, worked the case diligently, managing to capture the fugitive in matter of three days from the incident.
Meanwhile, Sharukh’s health condition is reportedly stable. The investigation is in its preliminary stage; more details cant be divulged at this point; there has been no security lapse in fetching Sharukh from Maharashtra’s Ratnagiri. where he was nabbed , to Kozhikode, the ADGP told reporters.
The Deadly Arson : The gruesome incident took place Sunday night close to 9.30 pm when a stranger, now identified as Sharukh, emerged in D-2 bogie seemingly from the D-1 and threw petrol from a bottle on to the passengers and then lit a fire.
