Kochi : One of India’s top newspapers, Dainik Bhaskar, has placed  purchase order of 10000 tonne newsprint from our very own KPPL, said Industries Minister P. Rajeev.

The earlier order was for 5000 tonnes. The current order is result of satisfactory service in terms of quality and delivery. It’s a happy and proud feat, the minister said.

Single bulk order of 10,000 tonnes is a rare occurrence in the newsprint industry and goes to show KPPL has proved its reliability, excellent service and professional finesse.  The newsprint industry is dominated by imported newsprint supplied by Punjab’s Khanna  Paper Mill and Emami Mill in Odisha. Hence for an infant company to make this mark is by no means a small feat. It speaks volumes on potential of our public sector.

KPPL supplies newsprint to English dailies like The Hindu, Business Standard, Indian Express and vernacular newspapers like Dinathanthi, Dinamalar, Malemala, Prajashakti and nearly all Malayalam newspapers.  The resounding success in such short span of time  is due to its quality, excellent transportation/logistics management.  punctual delivery etc.

Let’s not forget that these targets are accomplished after the State govt took over the  Central public sector undertaking that lay in defunct condition and shuttered , the minister said in his Facebook post.
