Pathanamthitta : : As part of the government’s Nava Kerala mission, KSEB prepares launch of e-Charge station at Pathanamthitta. Recharging facility is being installed in State with view to promoting electric vehicles and resultant switch to green energy.
In the first phase, charging stations shall be installed in Pathanamthitta, Thiruvalla and Pamba. Construction works for station at Pathanamthitta is complete and procedures underway for commissioning. Installation of equipments is in its last leg in Thiruvalla. The premise construction is complete in Pamba as well and equipments would be installed shortly. At all three sites facilitate for three vehicles to charge simultaneously at a time i.e. 2 small sized vehicles, such as auto and one large. All facilities are equipped for hi-speed charging and according to officials at the Electricity Board, depending on size of the battery, a vehicle would come fully charged anywhere between one to one-and-half hour.
Also coming up alongside are 30 charging facilities hinged to electric posts around the district for small sized vehicles. Sites for these facilities are picked at places where it is possible to line up vehicles by the roadside. Similar facilities are also planned for around auto-stands in the district.
e-charging of vehicles at stations can be done using specific App. The quantum recharge can be selected via the App and payment made online.
