Thiruvananthapuram : The KSRTC employees’ strike entered its 2nd day statewide, posing dire hardship for essential travel for the general public.
Presently, there are just two long distance buses running from Thiruvananthapuram and three from Kozhikode. With none of the staff turning up at Ernakulam depot, all services there remain grounded. Residents in rural belts are exasperated by the situation.
The strike demanding more pay has been called by KSRTC Employees Association(CITU) and KASTES(BMS) lasting 24 hours starting Thursday midnight while TDF(INTUC) and KASTEU(BITUC) have their strike timed 48 hours since.
