Thiruvananthapuram : Serious charges await Eldose Kunnapilly with Aluva native and lady teacher leveling  grave accusations against him related to molestation.  The woman, in her complaint to police  said, the MLA had molested her on 7 occasions. She also stated the MLA offered Rs 30 lakhs to dissuade her from filing complaint and that he beat her up when she refused to comply.

The MLA and the victim developed a friendship and molestations followed, the woman said. The MLA accompanied by friends came drunk to her house and beat her up for lodging complaint, the woman said.

The complaint was handed to Kovalam Inspector who did not take down her testimony and  urged her to instead  withdraw the complaint, the woman stated.

Victim beaten up in public view
MLA Eldose Kunnapilly beat his victim under onlookers’ gaze.  On the night of 14th September, a handful of locals noticed the MLA’s car stop and him thrashing the woman occupant inside. They alerted police, who arrived at the scene. However Kunnapilly said it was his wife inside the car and that it’s a minor domestic dispute. The police did not suspect anything further and went away.

The woman lodged complaint in the incident to City Commissioner who passed it  to Kovalam police. She was summoned for giving testimony on the 9th. In the meanwhile, though police tried to contact the MLA, he initially declined to respond. Then on 8th, the MLA called Kovalam  Sub Inspector G Praiju and said there was no trouble so to speak off. However, the story of ‘domestic dispute’ crumbled the next day when the woman showed up in front of the Inspector and gave out details of the assault.
