Thiruvananthapuram : KPCC President K Sudhakaran vanishes without lending audience to senior Congressman PJ. Kurien who arrived to offer explanation on his criticism of Rahul Gandhi. PJ Kurien reached Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. However, the KPCC office told him Sudhakaran had left for Kozhikode. Sudhakaran had recently told media Kurien would give a in-person account on the incident. Sudhakaran keeping away despite Kurien’s arrival by prior notice, is largely viewed as deliberate.
The humiliation meted out to Congress veteran is happening even as another complaint lies before the High Command regarding Sudhakaran personally insulting KV Thomas and also making threats to him.
Backdrop : Kurien made statement earlier saying Rahul Gandhi lacked stability and that someone outside of the Nehru family must fill the Congress president post. The controversial frankness came right before the Political Affairs Committee meeting of KPCC and the members decided to take stringent action against Kurien over the statement.
Meanwhile : Within Congress, there appears to be no respite to the growing opposition against K Sudhakaran – VD Satheesan bond. Both A and I groups are rallying together against the pair with open criticisms. Foreseeing united moves from the two groups is why Sudhakaran and Satheesan decided to conduct joint tours in all districts.
