Malappuram : UDF has lost its sitting seat in 9th ward of Paruthicode in Pallikunnu to LDF. The Left candidate PM Radhakrishnan won the ward with a lead of 280 votes. The seat fell vacant after CPI(M) member K Vinod Kumar resigned his post. The panchayat is presently governed by LDF in a 23 to 14 majority. Vijayan was UDF’s candidate in the bypoll.
