Vadakkara : In the byelection held in Maniyoor panchayat, LDF secures its sitting seat of North Maniyoor. LDF candidate A Sashidharan won by a 340 majority of the total 1163 ballots the voters cast.
Sashidharan bagged 741 votes while UDF’s EM Rajan secured 401 and BJP candidate Shibu got just 21. The seat had fallen vacant after CPI(M) panchayat member KP Balan passed away.
A Sasheedharan is a retired UP School teacher who is also District Secretary of Shastra-Sahitya Parikshith.
