Unfurling red victory across the state, LDF has emerged frontrunner in ward based statistics now released.  LDF leads  in 2/3rd  of district divisions and  61 percent of the Municipalities while, UDF lost its share across 190 Block Divisions and 35 District Divisions LDF saw a proportional rise in  179 and 42 seats  correspondingly.

UDF slid back by 432 seats in grama panchayats. Figuratively, LDF emerged winner in 7263 of total 15,962 grama panchayats. When independents join in,  the percentage will cross 50 percent. While LDF retained seats of 2015, UDF lost much.. Of the 6324 sitting seats, UDF is now left with just 5892.  LDF will reign over 551 panchayats now while, UDF  has only 315 - a neat slash of 50 panchayats.

In district-block panchayats, where political votes domineer, LDF secured its record victory. Of the 331 district divisions, LDF upped its seats from 170 to 212 while UDF shrunk to 110. In a repeat, of the 1088 block divisions LDF won 1267 seats while UDF shrunk to 727 from a previous 917.

Of the 414 wards across 6 corporations, LDF won 207 - a rise of 11 seats this time. Whereas, UDF that held 143  seats was left with a reduced 120.  In fact, UDF took a heavy beating in corporation votes this time. LDF bagged 1167 of the 3078 - a volume unseen over decades - while UDF’s considerably-reduced share stood at 1172. In Municipalities too, several of its seats were taken by independents.

And, as those independents align with LDF, the Left share will get even bigger. LDF has also scored unprecedented share in terms of  vote percentages : LDF 41.55; UDF 31.5 and NDA 14.52 percent. According to estimates for upcoming Assembly elections LDF  will hold sway over more than 100 seats while UDF share will likely remain below 100.
