Munnar : LDF wins back Chinnakanal panchayat in Idduki defeating UDF in a 7:6 vote score. CPI member NM Sreekumar is the president with motion passing successfully against incumbent UDF President Sini Baby.
The Panchayat Committee in Chinnakanal has 13 members of which LDF and UDF had six members each and one independent. UDF came to power by draw of lots after the independent refused to ally with either fronts.
In the no-trust motion moved last month, the independent from Venad supported LDF. Current Party status: Congress - 6; CPI - 4; CPI(M) 2, Independent - 1.
