Irinjalakuda : LDF wins Anandapuram Division of Irinjalakuda Block Panchayat. Sheena Rajan is the winning candidate scoring a lead of 597 votes. Rivals were Shalini Unnikrishnan (UDF) and BJP’s Dhania Manikantan. In last elections, CPI(M) canddiate Sheeja Sivan won a 809 vote lead. The seat fell vacant after she resigned to take up government job. The current strength is LDF 12 and UDF 1.
