Malappuram : Muslim League General Secretary PMA Salam said League does not view Marunadan Malayali as a media establishment. Shajan Scaria’s perspectives incite communal passions. League strongly resents this. There should be investigations into Shajan’s dealings. Police must put an end to wrong trends and go ahead with legal proceedings, said Salam.
K Sudhakaran recently expressed whole hearted support for the fugitive editor Shajan Scaria. KPCC will take necessary steps to provide full protection to media such as Marunadan Malayali, he had said.
Based on complaint by PV Srinjan MLA that Shajan cast fake news causing him personal humiliation, the police made searches at Marunadan offices to collect evidence. Equipments including computer and contents used to fabricate the fake news were confiscated.
KPCC president dubbed action against Shajan as “rubbish” and described it as “cruel” even as legislators like PV Srinijan and PV Anwar and business tycoon like MA Yusuf Ali are fighting it out in court against Shajan over fake news he produces. Senor Congress leader and former Chief Minister Oomen Chandy too has defamation case pending against Marunadan over fake news. Turning a blind eye to all this, the KPCC president and other Opposition leaders have setup “Marunadan Samrakshna Yajna”. KPCC has planned march to police station on te 26th originating from its various block committees.
Shajan Scaria is currently on the run after being booked by the police and subsequently denied anticipatory bail by the High Court. The Ernakulam City Police has pending warrant against him and have issued Lookout Notice.
