Kannur : The Muslim League is trying hard to lead Kerala to communal rioting, said CPI(M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. League is not growing. It is crumbling. League is doing much to trigger panic using matters relating to Waqf appointments. This is potentially dangerous. Some persons lately made speeches in Kozhikode urging that no on keep relations with communists. It is up to an individual to decide which party he should work for, said Kodiyeri.
Muslim League is driven by ideologies of the Jamait-e-Islami. A recent declaration in Kozhikode proclaimed League as a religious party. This move from League is a rather dangerous one. League should refrain from such turns. The Muslim League leadership seeks to spread fear among its supporters. These kind of tactics will not make much headway, said Kodiyeri.
In the rally convened by League, several humiliated the Chief Minister using caste references. Congress should clarify its stand on that-. Muslim League’s activities are identical in nature to that of the RSS. People of Kerala will not accept moves of that kind. Attempting to incite people onto streets for rioting is a dangerous proposition. All political parties must openly oppose the attempt. League is attempting to venue political activities inside the mosque premises and create crisis.
Mosque goers come from varied political orientatons. Sunni organisations do not support League;s plans to conduct politics inside mosques. League now stands isolated and the Kozhikode programme convened Thursday was to cover up that embarrassment. One should ask Congress if KPCC, in effect, controlled by League. If VM Sudheeran or Mullappally Ramachandran were at head of KPCC, they would have reacted against what occurred yesterday, said Kodiyeri.
