Thiruvananthapuram : State’s Life Mission surges to greater heights with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurating construction works for 29 more flat complexes on Thursday, as part of the state’s project for people who never owned a home of their own.
At regional events organized at each of the 29 sites, ministers in-charge of the ceremony, laid foundation stones in their respective district. Minister AC Moideen presided over the inaugurals. Construction works of all complexes would be complete by May of next year.
Housing sites locations : Kasaragod - Chemmanad village; Kannur - Chiryakkal, Kannapuram panchayat, Paiyanoor and Anthur Municipality; Kozhikode - Puthadi in Wayanad; Mavoor, Naduvanoor and Puthuppadi; Malappuram - Alamkode; Palakkad - Kottumbu in Palakkad; Thrissur - Karallam; Ernakulam - Ayampuzha and Koothattukulam municipality; Idukki - Kanjiyar, Pathukudi and Kattappana municipalityi; Kottayam - Merayikunna and Vijayapuram; Alappuzha - Mannancherry and Naduvattam Pallippad; Pathanamthitta - Erathu, Ezhamkulam, Panthalam; Kollam(Corporation) - Padinjare Kallada Thazhemel; Thiruvananthapuram - Madavoor and Azhoor.
A total of 1285 flats will be ready at an estimated cost of Rs 181.22 cr. In the next one year, the government also aims to complete construction of another 101 housing complexes - the third phase of Life Mission for benefiting the category that owns neither land nor home of their own. Construction works at 12 flat complexes in this category are progressing on war footing currently.
