Thiruvananthapuram : : A house for all those needy is government’s goal and LIFE Mission is part of the perspective on what development is meant to be, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the event announcing completion of 2.5 lakh homes under the housing project LIFE.
2.5 lakh homes brings fulfillment to dreams of over 10 lakh people. The feat marks accomplishment of unparalleled milestone in the history of Kerala. There have been many whose house-owning dreams died with them in their graves. These houses completed under LIFE brings change to that legacy. This government stood by people’s dreams with determination and integrated various schemes in the state to formulate LIFE Mission. The response from all quarters had been encouraging and made it possible to complete construction of houses on massive scale, said CM.
Of the 2.5 lakh houses completed, targets at panchayats have been fully accomplished. All landless people in Adimali have been now provided with a house of their own. The second phase of LIFE mission is meanwhile nearing completion.
The government has huge priority for the third phase of LIFE Mission. Identifying land for its 85 housing complexes is underway. Of the number, construction of 5 complexes will have completed over 2 months.
There are several people in the state who live in insecure spaces. Measures have begun to ensure a house to each of such persons. Even so , many needy persons have been left out of the government list for housing. All deserving individuals will be eventually provided a home of their own, said CM,
