Kottayam : A lottery stall worker met gruesome end after a pillar at hotel in Kottayam collapsed last night. The deceased has been identified as Gino K Abraham(46), son of KJ Abraham from Kalluparampu house in Paipad Pallikachira. The incident took place Taround 9 pm Thursday.
The collapsed beam was part of Rajdhani Hotel located opposite to the Municipal Office in Kottayam town. Gino was employee at Meenakshi Lucky Centre housed in the lower portion of the hotel building. He had finished work and was waiting outside when the beam of an arch to the hotel’s window gave way. A falling brick hit Gino’s head and more concrete came crashing.
Gino was critically wounded and rushed immediately to the district hospital, but died shortly after. The body awaits autopsy at the hospital’s mortuary. Kottayam West Police have registered case in the incident and investigations are on to find the flaw that led to the collapse.
Gino is survived by wife Sheeja, children Adon and Arsho.
