Thiruvananthapuram : Political parties should refrain from anti-woman attitude, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. That would ring a wrong message for the society. Political parties should keep away from interventions detrimental to women, said CM answering a query in the Assembly to a question relating to Muslim League’s Harita.
CM also commented on the campus murder at St. Thomas College in Kottayam. Incidents playing out are such that should never be happenig. Sacrosanct love should not be steered into murder. It is an issue the political parties and the society as a whole must together resolve. Some persons are misusing social media to humiliate women, said CM.
Stand against oppression of women found acceptance from early times of modern age. Even so, denial of gender justice and male chauvinism continues to happen. Thus it is only natural that the practice attracts criticism. This is government’s take on the topic, said CM referring to upheavals in Harita – a topic that Opposition said must be left out of House discussion while the Speaker ruled otherwise.
