DYFI has been the forever symbol of Kerala’s protest said well-known writer M Mukundan. Their voice has risen once again - this time, as trumpet against murderous politics... against the killings spree in the state amid covid, said M Mukundan backing DYFI’s “Don’t Murder(Kola Aruthu)” campaign.
“People are stifled with anxiety and fears precipitated by the deadly pandemic. At a time like this, we must join hands with and stand by the government that world lauded for outstanding mitigation efforts. Motivated by political goal, there is attempt to derail the government’s endeavours. Such aims also seek to shatter the peace prevalent in the community.
Four horrific murders have been perpetrated even as the dreadful pandemic marched relentlessly. The latest to be slain is a youth leader from the scheduled caste, who was also the sole pillar of his poverty-stricken home. He stabbed to death on way after fixing food packs from homes meant for distribution at government medical college the next day. The food packs got ready as asked for. Only that, Sanoop wasn’t anymore there to serve. By ending Sanoop’s life, the assailants tried to douse care and kindness from the community. They are mistaken. Hundreds rise to fill the void left behind by one fallen fighter.
Five days after Sanoop’s death, on October 10, reaching food to the hungry(WFP) received the prestigious recognition after being conferred Nobel Peace Prize. DYFI’s food deliveries to the needy are a noble deed. All of us desire peace. Message across humanity resonates repeatedly that murder is never a solution to anything at all. I appreciate DYFI for its campaign..and all good wishes to its success. “ : M Mukundan.
