Mumbai : With reconciliatory efforts failing to make headway, Shiv Sena prepares to confront coup on the Assembly floor. Will not bow to rebel moves, nor will Udhav Thackeray resign as CM, clarified Shiv Sena in an official statement.
With more MLAs jumping onto rebel wagon, Udhav Thackeray on Thursday had offered to exit Maha Vikas Agadhi(MVA) alliance if the rebels returned. However, Eknath Shinde, spearheading the dissent, turned down the proposal. Following this, the Mumbai leadership changed its stance declaring it will not bow to rebel pressures and would rather face floor test at the Assembly.
'We will fight to max extent to preserve the broader alliance', NCP supremo Sharad Pawar told media after speaking with Udhav Thackeray. Udhav is now on full offensive and submitted letter to Speaker seeking to disqualify the rebel MLAs apart from issuing Whip to 12 rebel MLAs.
