Kochi : A major fire broke out in Ernakulam’s KINFRA in Kalamassery. The blaze began 6.30 am inside of company manufacturing spice essences, the Green Leaf. Several fire tenders from varied units have arrived at the scene, attempting to douse the flames. No casualties have been reported in the incident although there were staff on duty at the time of fire.
There are several firms operating adjoining Green Leaf, escalating risk of the fire spreading. It s speculated that chemicals stored in to concoct the essences might have sparked the fire. Owing to high oil content in the chemicals for essences, dousing the fire poses more challenges, said a Fire Force personnel.
