Mandala Season: KSRTC To Ply More Buses On Sabarimala Routes

Thiruvananthapuram: With renowned Ayyappa Temple open for its annual Mandala Makaravilakk season, Kerala State Road Transport Corporations(KSRTC)  pressed in more buses on Sabarimala routes .  40 long-distance buses have been roped in to operate Nilakkal - Pampa chain service.  Additional buses have also been deployed at  Chengannur, Ernakulam and Kottayam railway stations for devotees boarding there.

A special officer has been appointed at Pampa to oversee augmented bus services. Also, employees have been stationed there for minor repairs that might crop up after long runs. Owing to covid conditions, the number of devotees for darshan have been restricted to 1000 on weekdays, 2000 on weekends and 5000 on Makaravilakk day. Arrangements are in place to ply buses as may be necessary, said KSRTC CMD Biju Prabhakar.

For groups comprising not less than 40 persons, chartered bookings have been facilitated from various KSRTC units to and fro Pampa. For such minimal 40-member groups, the bus will take in devotees  from any one of their choice locations within 10 km radius when headed to Pampa. An additional Rs 20 per ticket will be levied for the facility.

Online bookings have commenced for  Pampa Special, and Kollam - Pampa  service.
Tickets can be booked from KSRTC website or ‘Entre KSRTC’ app on mobile. Bookings are open between 8 am morning and 9 pm night.
