Alappuzha : Manipur killings and riots are not a separate occurrence; Rather, the violence is continuation of Gujarat genocide, said CPI(M) State Secretary MV Govindan.
How can one claim India is a democratic country after seeing shameful incidents playing out in Manipur. Communal riots are being transformed into ethnic cleansing. The Prime Minister is answerable to the Parliament on Manipur crisis, the Party State Secretary said.
BJP has sown a seed that will set blaze everywhere. It is not limited to Manipur. The Uniform Civil Code too is a part of it. The Code is not meant to implement uniformity, rather, it is a weapon for divisiveness and agression. We shall cooperate with all who oppose the Uniform Civil Code; no barricades on that front, said MV Govindan.
The CPI(M) State Secretary was speaking in Alappura’s Pookav junction at the inaugural of “Save Manipur” rally organised by LDF across the state.
