Thiruvananthapuram : A father in Varkala was beaten to death on eve of wedding day in Varkala. The incident occurred in Vadasserikonam in Varkala.
The family of prime suspect Jishnu had visited Sreelakshmi’s house proposing marriage. However, the family was not interested . According to police, the violence played out Tuesday night was in vengeance.
Soon as the proposal was rejected, Jishnu had started to threaten the family. On Tuesday night, after the pre-wedding party, Jishnu, his brother Jijin and friends - Shyam and Manu reached the house. They targeted Sreelakshmi and attacked her. She fell to the ground and when the father scrambled to protect her, the gang bludgeoned him with machete.
