Thiruvananthapuram : Major broke out close to PRS Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram this noon. Fire started at a scrap godown on Bund Road erupting into huge flames with thick smoke. The blaze quickly spread and engulfed at least 5 adjoining shops. Police have blocked traffic to the road and are evacuating residents from the area.
There is house located right at the back of the scrap godown, all residents of which were helped to safety reportedly by the locals. Three fire tenders have reached the spot and are flushing water from either sides in an effort to douse the flames.
