Thrissur : A clandestine ritual of sorts played out in Thissur’s Varavoor where a local named Satheesan, performed pooja using liquor and deadly weapons on a deserted farm at midnight.
In the eerie hours of Wednesday, the exorcist like ritual progressed on a farm located in Paravoor Ramankulangara. As flames rose at dead of the night, villagers were intrigued and set out to investigate.
On reaching the spot, they were greeted by strange inventory that included around ten weapons like air gun, butcher knife, axe etc and liquor strewn amid the rituals.
They nabbed Satheesan, the poojari and his assistant and handed the men to police. Satheesan is the farm owner and said the pooja was intended to drive out evil spirits from his land.
