Kochi : Premium football club, Chelsea, posted on its Instagram page, the picture of its team members on a virtual tour of houseboat journey in Alappuzha. The picture viralling on social media came to attention of the tourism minister Muhammed Riyas.
Happy to know that football club with largest following worldpver has recognised Kerala’s beauty, the minister said and invited the Chelsea team to enjoy lush sights of Kerala in person. With Kerala catching attention of Chelsea, rest of the world is bound to take notice of Kerala as a wonderful tourist destination, the minister told reporters.
The Chelsea post was titled “The Beauty of Kerala! Enjoying the splendor of Alappuzha’s backwaters in virtual tour”. To this, the Tourism dept dropped a quick reply saying, “This is invite to Chelsea to experience firsthand, the bounties of God’s Own Country that loves football immensely”.
