Minority Welfare: League Playing Communal Card - Vijayaraghavan

Thiruvananthapuram: It is highly condemnable that Muslim League chooses to play the communal card opportunistically  instead of appreciating that the minority welfare portfolio rests with the Chief Minister,  said CPI(M) acting State Secretary A. Vijayaraghavan in a statement.

PK Kunjalikutty’s claim that the Minority Welfare portfolio  was first allotted to someone and later recalled is absolutely baseless. The Governor released notification on the various portfolios based on recommendations from Chief Minister.

It was generally agreed that Minority Welfare would fare better when reserved with Chief Minister. The election results proved how the Muslim community was more trustful of the  LDF and its government and such mandate has apparently unnerved the League.

Muslim community was betrayed by League in  all times. As Narendra Modi govt at centre continually adopted anti-minority stand, the state’s Left government  rose to oppose each time. And, coming up with false propaganda instead of strengthening such stance cannot be acknowledged, said A. Vijayaraghavan.
