The deceased woman Sindhu had separated from her husband and initially lived on rent in Panikankudi. When Sindhu disappeared all of sudden 25 days back, her mother lodged a missing complaint with Vellathuval police.  Binu appeared odd in his demeanor after her disappearance, Sindhu’s mother had told police.

Police looked for Binu but he went into hiding. Meanwhile, police conducted a  search of his house where they came up on the decomposed remains buried in the kitchen. According to neighbours, the couple had frequent quarrels and Sindhu would end up getting thrashed several times.
