Tuvar : The missing case of the woman who disappeared from  Palliparamb is now murder. Her body was found buried in a shallow grave in the backyard of her friend’s home with metal stones sheeted over. The deceased has been identified as Sujitha(35), wife of Mankuth Manoj Kumar, a Palliparambu native. She was reported missing on the 11th.

Sujitha’s  body was found in a dug-out pitVishnu’s house three kilometers away from her own house. Vishnu is Youth Congress Mandalam Secretary in Palliparambu and temporary staff at Tuvara panchayat. He came up on police radar on finding that the last call from the deceased was made to Vishnu. Police conducted a search of his home and compound  and immediately grew suspicious about what looked like a freshly dug patch in the backyard with metal  stones spread over.

When they cleared the metal stones out, there rose a strong odour, the smell the police were all too familiar with, namely the scent of decomposing human body. Vishnu  had told the curious neighbours that metal stones were meant to keep the laundry stone steady. Police cordoned off the site  and are awaiting postmortem results to know more.

Sujitha was a temporary employee at Tuvara Krishi Bhavan and had reported for work but left around 10:30 am for what she said was to see a doctor. The PHC(Primary Health Centre) located only 700 meters away confirmed Sujitha never visited there on the  day. The family filed a missing report after she failed to show up in the evening.
