Manjeshwaram : Complaints against MLA Kamaruddin continues to grow with 3 more petitions lodged yesterday, taking the total cases against the League legislator to 36 so far in the scam. The claims disclosed up to now aggregate to Rs 74 crore and 68 sovereign gold. Five cases are lodged with Kasaragod police station, two in Hosdurg Magestrate Court and the highest number of 29 with Chanthera police station. Accounts so far add up to Rs 150 crore swindled from 749 people.
The latest complaints that came on Thursday pertained to Vellari native M Fasila(Rs 9 lakh), Pattana Kattapuram native, T Ibrahim(Rs 65 lkh) and Pattana naïve, Anuruddin(Rs 15 lakh).
In their raid on MLA’s Fashion Gold showroom in Cheruvathoor, police seized CDs the potential of which is unclear. The police team that busted the locked showroom was headed by Chanthera Sub Inspector V Narayan. The showroom is housed in a rented building and data from computer stating names of the directors and depositors ,was all they could come upon in the raid.
A sign board outside the building says the office has been closed for renovation purposes when in fact, the keys to the building were returned to its owner back in December of 2019, when the business winded.
Raids were also carried out residences owned by MLA at Idchakka and the Managing Director TK Pukoya Thangal in Chantheri, where police confiscated some records.
Those defrauded of their investment with MLA include KC Muhammad from Mavilakadapurathu(Rs 15 lakh), Jamal from Parambathu in Ajanoor(Rs10 lakh), PK Sabeena form Padannakadapurathu(Rs6 lakh), Shamshuddin from Vadakepurathu(Rs lakh), MDP Echikochal native from Piilicode, MTP Nafeesath(Rs 6lakh), Kunnami(Rs 85,000), Shabana Rehman(Rs 10 lakh), Ilumunees(Rs 10 lakh), U Mohammad from Pattanakadapurathu(Rs 10 lakh), Kaithottam VP Abdulkhadar(Rs 5 lakh), Kodankatta native B Abdul Lathif(Rs 10 lakh), Thuruthi native K Danabi(Rs 5 Lakh), Ajanoor native CK Kunjamina(Rs7 lakh) and Thanicheri native K Saheed(Rs 10 lakh)
