Thiruvananthapuram : Traffic IG Lakshman has been sent into suspension after Crime Branch in its report presented overwhelming evidences on his dubious links to crime enterprise run by Monson Mavunkal. Crime Branch that recommended his suspension, also submitted, among others, incriminating whatsapp chats originating from IG relating to his role in Monson’s ‘antiques’ deals.
As per Crime Branch, the IG played the middle-man role helping to Monson strike sales for his cheap collections, passing them as antiques priced exorbitantly. Investigators uncovered various conversations Lakshman engaged in with Monson’s manager Jishnu. Also, it was IG that introduced a Andhra woman to Monson who would later function as go-between for sale Monson’s fake ‘relics’ like Bible he claimed was ‘first print edition’, a Quran ‘ purported as one that Saddam Hussain used, fake gems and so on.
