Mularia, KASARAGOD :A mother and child of a marriage party was killed in Kasaragod’s and 6 injured when the Innova car they were travelling in met with an accident at 3.45 am Monday.
The accident occurred at Delampadi Parappa in Kasaragod along Kerala - Karnataka border. The deceased have have been identified as Shahina(35), wife of coconut merchant Sanu from Adoor Kottadi and their 4-year-old daughter Fatimath Shasha.
Other passengers injured are : Sanu’s mother Bifatima, brother Ashraf, brother Hanifa’s wife, the couple’s 6-year-old daughter Zaira, another brother Yakub’s wife Semina and their five-year-old daughter Alfa Fatima.
The family had set out from Gwalimukha Karnoor Golithadi in Karnataka to participate in a wedding feast in Sullya, also in Karnataka. The car was running along a stretch in Parappa in Gwalimukha, when the vehicle suddenly skidded and crashed into a tree.
Two among the injured are hospitalised in private nursing home while four are admitted at Mangalapuram government hospital. The condition of the latter four remain critical.
