Kochi: Mother of TTE, V Vinod who was pushed to death from moving train, has also passes away. Never really having recovered from loss of her son, mother Lalita developed health problems soon after the tragedy and remain depressed, shuttling between her daughter’s home and hospital since.
The incident occurred in April this year. Odisha native Rajinikantha Renjith entered the train drunk and caused nuisance to passengers around. TTE Vinod came by and asked to check Rajinikanta’s ticket, which he did not have. Vinod then moved Rajinikanta to near the compartment door and stood him there to exit him at the next station, when the inebriated man suddenly pushed the Vinod out the moving train. Vinod succumbed to his injuries and police took the suspect into custody.
Vinod secured job with the Railways under harness scheme following his father’s death. Initially, he worked in the mechanical department. He was stuck with cancer and made a full recovery before being promoted to post as TTE.
An ardent movie fan, Vinod occasionally made small appearances in cinema. The incident leading to his death took place on 2 April on board Ernakulam – Patna train.
