Kozhikode KPCC president is a victim of Muslim League conspiracy designed to take UDF controls into its hands, said INL state secretary Kassim Irikkur.
It is likely out of pressure from Muslim League that the Welfare Party came out with claims lately that Mullappally had initiated talks with it for local body elections. It is not respectable politics to side with conspiracy hatched by League leader PK Kunjalikutty, one that aims to deepen divisions within Congress, weaken the party and thereby gain upper-hand in UDF,
If it be true that Mullappally had engaged in the talks in question, Welfare Party should have revealed it way back when arguments, both within Congress and UDF, had climaxed over the issue. Thus the current conspiracy is possibly intended to portray Mullappally as a deceptive leader who kept his talks with Welfare Party a secret and poses as a hindrance to seat-sharing arrangements with parties outside of UDF. This tragic situation is an outcome of seeking shortcuts to power politics instead of showing patience when dealing with political circumstances, said Kassim Irikkur.
