NEW DELHI : KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran threatened to resign over Jumbo List bearing nominations for next set of office bearers. The discontent was out after parliamentary party leader Ramesh Chennithala and Congress veteran Oomen Chandy rejected some of Mulapally’s suggestions for list.
Marathon talks were held in Delhi last night to give Jumbo List its final form. According to sources, there would be 6 Working Presidents, 5 Vice presidents, 30 General Secretaries, 60 Secretaries and 1 treasurer.
Chennithala and Chandy were summoned to Delhi by High Command after a week-long discussions at home ground, failed to finalise the list of office bearers.
The two factions of Congress in Kerala handed over 14 nominations each for KPCC presidentship. Added to the number of nominees for posts of Working Presidents, Vice-Presidents, General Secretaries and Secretaries, the tally would cross a whopping 100.
The list of new office bearers is expected to be released Wednesday evening.
