Thiruvananthapuram :Vayalar Ravi expresses resent for Mullappally Ramachandran's post as KPCC president. Mullappally’s lack of knowledge on Kerala is certainly a weakness for Congress; My personal wish was for K Sudhakaran to be the KPCC president, said Vayalar Ravi in his interview with Asianet Channel on Thursday.
Groupism is prevalent in the party even now, which is why candidate selection should happen under Congress leadership and not on group basis, he said
“Though Mullappally is a leader from Kannur, he lacks familiarity from traveling around Kerala. Myself, AK Antony and Oomen Chandy would travel up and down Kannur journeying in trains”.
We know everybody. We know the politics there. They caught hold of Mullappally in Delhi and made him the president. Not that it was something drastically bad. But the problem is he lacks the required familiarity with Kerala. I had suggested K Sudhakaran for the, KPCC president post, said Vayalar Ravi, adding that, it is of utmost importance to bring Oomen Chandy to leadership position.
