Kochi : In a shocking revelation on TV, a Muslim League worker  admitted to have tapped KT Jaleel’s cell phone and extracted  WhatsApp contents. The disclosure came from League’s  cyber activist, Yassin Edappal on  Wednesday.  Yassin emerged with his  revelation on varied Malayalam channels that were rolling out false allegations against the minister all day since yesterday morning.

He first appeared on Media One during in their  news chat. In that show, Yassin claimed although minister Jaleel’s  phone was hacked, the League’s cyber group managed to extract only its WhatsApp content. He followed that up with a boast saying, since he is residing in UAE, it would not be possible to initiate a case on his disclosure on TV.  Yassin further  claimed he had carried out a hack from a different location earlier and repeated it several times later.

“I am about to say something I didn’t reveal to the channels a few days ago. Two months back, our IT cell had hacked Jaleel’s phone. From the extracted contents, we leaked 2 voice clips aiming to derogate KMCC.  I also released  those voice clips among public on social media and it triggered media debates on news channels,” said Yassin.

At the time when Yassin-claimed leaks occurred, there arouse wide demand for action against Muslim League workers for hacking ministers’ phones. On TV, Yassin responded with a ‘yes’ on being asked if he was aware his acts amounted to serious offence.

Incidentally, Mathrubhumi channel asked the guy to leave when confronted with his questionable character. Mathrubhumi had propped him up on their screen hoping to bolster false allegations against KT Jaleel. But soon, DYFI leader SK Satish pointed to outrageous posts and videos on Yassin’s FB page and  the news anchor was forced to drop him out of their show. Intriguingly,  24 News channel was relentless  and flaunted the guy despite his obnoxious record.

Consistently showering vulgar abuses to belittle CPI(M) workers, Yassin uses  unspeakable obscenities to ridicule women. Incidentally, Minister Jaleel had long asked for action against Yassin for cyber attacks - a demand that several channels portrayed as near sin.
