NEW DELHI : The Muslim League indicated its concern over Congress resembling Sangh Parivar, referring to the national party's recent stand on Ayodhya and Kashmir issues.
A delegation comprising Party President Khadhar Moidheen , General Secretary P K Kunjanlikutty and Secretary ET Mohammed Basheer, visited Sonia Gandhi at her residence to express anxiety.
Congress’s open acknowledgement of communal ideologies has unnerved the minorities, they said.The party should take corrective measures to allay fears of the minority, the League leaders urged.
However, according to sources, there has been no assurance forthcoming on Sonia’s part, on the matter.
Congress had welcomed Supreme Court verdict granting Babri Masjid land for construction of temple. Congress publically endorsed its view saying, the party wishes a temple come up on the disputed land.
