Thiruvananthapuram : CPI(M) state secretariat member MV Govindan Master named V Muraleedharan and BJP channel head, Anil Nambiar as two key racketeers in gold smuggling case. Apart from persons who smuggled the gold, probe should also extend to its buyers, sellers and people with links to the Consulate, opined Master. Muraleedharan still maintains the contraband is private rather than a diplomatic one;. why is probe not extending into the involvement of V Muraleedharan and Anil Nambiar, Master asked.
On the Opposition row over NIA questioning, Master said, 'There would be no need for Jaleel to resign even if a case gets registered eventually." LDF Convener A Vijayraghavan endorsed that view saying, there is no need for a resignation merely because an agency puts up questions with a leader. Jaleel has violated no law and it is unfair to harass a person on basis of suspicions alone, he added. Anyway, Jaleel has no circumstance of the kind Kunhalikutty had at the time of his forced resignation, said Vijayaraghavan. Attacking members of a leader’s family is highly condemnable, he added.
