Pariyaram: There has been huge improvement in health condition of CPI(M) Kannur District Secretary MV Jayarajan, who is curently undergoing treatment at the district’s medical college for covid-induced pneumonia, the hospital’s medical board attending the leader indicated. Jayrajan has now tested negative for the virus.
Intermittent ventilator assistance to help oxygen levels normalise in blood has brought desired results, the Board further evaluated. Since blood oxygen levels have improved significantly, it was decided to do away with Sipap venting and provide only minimal ventilator support. Diabetes and blood pressure levels too has been brought under control.
MV Jayarajan is now able to sit up and have food on his own. Medication is being administered to treat mild urinary infection. Lung infection from covid-pneumonia is yet to be cured completely. Thus vigil on the leader’s condition should continue, opined principal doctor Dr. KM Kuriyakose, the chairman, superintendent Dr. K Sudeep and convener at the board. Since Jayarajan’s health condition warrants close monitory, the leader will continue to remain in ICU, the hospital bulletin said.
