Nearly 50 Families in Puthupally Quit Congress To Join CPI(M)

Puthupally:  About 100 people in Puthupally’s Vakathanam severed their ties with Congress to join CPI(M). The newcomers comprise roughly 50 families from the panchayat’s 10th ward.

The panchayat and CPI(M) members  were extraordinarily helpful with  relief efforts during hard-hit days of covid. On the other hand, it upset people that UDF constantly attempted to derail welfare projects including the government’s LIFE mission.  UDF entering to vote-deals with BJP for the  local body elections was the last straw, said many of them who turned to CPI(M).

The  reception for the new entrants was inaugurated by CPI(M) District Committee member Adv Reji Zakaria. Ward member Kurien Parathode presided over the function.

Area Secretary Suresh P Varghese, Local Secretary Sabu Marangod, Area Committee member A J John, Panchayat President Rosamma Mathai, Local Committee member G Sreekumar and Branch Secretary VG Chandran were also in attendance at the function.
