Thiruvananthapuram :  The newly constituted internal Board of Kerala State Co-operative Bank assumed charge on Friday. Gopi Kotamurrikal has been elected as the Bank’s President and MK Kannan as the Vice President.

Kerala Bank holds infinite potential in the state’s banking sector, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the occasion. It is unfortunate that one district chose to stay outside the periphery, CM said, adding that,  Malappuram District Co-op Bank should hopefully opt to merge without much delay.

Arrangements will be set up at Kerala Bank for overseas remittances. It is unfair for just one district to stay deprived of such facilities. Those who spearheaded the decision to for the bank to stay out, should re-examine their stand, said CM.
