Ernakulam : Kerala made quantum strides in public healthcare, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, speaking at the inaugural of Cancer Specialty Block at Ernakulam General Hospital on Monday.
Ernakulam General Hospital even earlier has been marked as quality healthcare centre for the public. The Cancer block will now enhance its potential, said CM.
The government is doing much to expand and enhance the public health system, as a result of which the Public Health sector has accomplished several milestone feats, the latest being award received for medical services for the visually impaired patients. Kerala beats other states in terms of widest free medical treatments to its people, said CM.
It has been possible to make each health centre people friendly through the Ardram Mission. Primary Health Centres across State has been upgraded to Family Health Centres with full-time doctors and laboratory facility. Several super-specialty blocks have been set up at Taluk and District hospitals. Infrastructure at Medical Colleges have been vastly improvised. All this has made it possible for commoners to confidently turn to government hospitals with for quality medical services, said CM.
