Thiruvananthapuram : Lawyers beat up news reporters in court premises at Vanchiyoor on Monday. The violence broke out after Siraj daily photographer Shvaji tried to take pictures of Sriram Venkittraman and Wafa -the two accused in killing of journalist KM Basheer in car crash of February 2020.
The Working Journalists’ Union president, Suresh Velliangalam, too was manhandled in the incident. According to complaint lodged by the journalists, the attackers had also snatched away their camera, mobiles and ID cards.
